1:1 Parenting Consultations

With a focus on emotions, childhood behaviour and Attachment Play (founded in neuroscience, attachment and childhood development research), this service offers you 1-on-1 time to chat with a qualified practitioner about certain challenges you may be facing with your child. From the birth of a new sibling, to aggressive behaviour, to separation anxiety and more - you will have the space to feel heard, to learn helpful new strategies and to grow your confidence in supporting your child wherever they're at, all whilst creating a strong and enjoyable connection with them.

Consultations are delivered through Childhood Rising via telehealth. There is also the option for in-person consults if you live in the Mornington Peninsula area.

"Jess provided consulting support during a challenging time for our family. We immediately felt heard by Jess and she guided us with practical ideas such as language to use and role play activities. She gave us a wide range of ideas and we were able to trial what worked with our three year old son and particular context. Jess was always respectful and flexible in her consults with us and has given us ideas we will use for many years, with both our children as we navigate transitions and challenges" - Anna

Family Mental Health Education:
Attuned Parents Workshop

Throughout this workshop, designed specifically for parents, you will learn...

  • How a child’s brain responds to stress and why this information is key to understanding and supporting our kids.

  • Strategies to support your child when they’re regulated (feeling calm) and dysregulated (experiencing overwhelm).

  • A new way of looking at emotions so that you can positively support your child’s emotional intelligence (aka how they manage their emotions, communicate with others, and take care of themselves as they grow).

  • Strategies that can support your child to respond rather than react as they learn to self-regulate over time.

  • An understanding of the body’s role in emotions and how mindfulness can support the brain-body link to promote self-regulation for your children and yourself as a caregiver.

  • The concept of modelling emotional intelligence as a key way to positively influence your child/ren.

  • What emotional literacy is, why it is essential and how you can give your children this gift for life.

  • The importance of play and the pivotal role it can play in supporting and connecting you with your child/ren.

  • How to use reflective listening to encourage your child/ren to open up to you. Let's create a space where our kids feel safe to tell us their worries and fears so they don't have to feel alone when experiencing life's challenges.
